Trey Pappas is a proven leader with a distinguished career spanning over three decades, combining extensive military service and executive-level business development expertise. As CRO at CesiumAstro, Trey oversees strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth and expand the company’s market presence in advanced space communication technologies. His leadership has been instrumental in positioning CesiumAstro as a leading innovator in phased array and satellite connectivity solutions. Before becoming Chief Revenue Officer, Trey served as Vice President of Business Development and Director of Business Development and Programs at CesiumAstro. In these roles, he spearheaded partnerships, expanded the customer base, and led critical programs to deliver scalable, high-reliability communication systems. His focus on cultivating relationships and identifying growth opportunities has been pivotal to the company’s success. Prior to his transition to the private sector, Trey served in the United States Marine Corps for more than 29 years, where he held key leadership positions, including Deputy Commander of the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab and Chief of Staff of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command. As Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Trey led a staff of over 2,100 personnel supporting a multibillion-dollar industrial capacity, driving infrastructure modernization, operational efficiency, and safety improvements. Throughout his military career, he consistently demonstrated strategic vision, operational acumen, and a commitment to excellence. Trey’s military service also includes commanding VMFA(AW)-242, a Marine Fighter Squadron, where he led 186 Marines and managed $500M in aviation assets. He flew more than 100 combat missions, earning qualifications from the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course (MAWTS-1). Trey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Duke University, a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, where he graduated with Highest Distinction. His education, combined with his military and business leadership, equipped him with a unique perspective on strategy, resource management, and organizational development.
