Graduated from INSA with a degree in Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Aurélie Girou began her career at Safran in 2005 within the Purchasing Department, where she oversaw procurement for forgings and raw materials.In 2008, she transitioned to the Sales Department of Messier-Bugatti, before joining Safran Landing Systems in 2010. There, she gradually took on responsibility for managing landing gear programs for business jets, military aircraft, and helicopters.
In 2016, Aurélie is appointed Head of Purchasing for the Wheels and Brakes Division, and in 2019, became Program Director for landing gear systems on the Airbus Single Aisle family, contributing notably to the development of the A321 XLR.
In 2021, she joined Safran Corporate Ventures, the Group’s investment fund, as Group Director of Open Innovation. In this role, she led multiple strategic investment initiatives both in France and internationally, supporting the emergence of breakthrough technologies aligned with Safran’s innovation roadmap.
Since late 2023, Aurélie has been serving as President of Safran Reosc, a subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense specialized in high-performance optics for space, astronomy, and defense applications. Under her leadership, the company continues to drive innovation in advanced optical technologies, notably through the development of large mirrors for space telescopes and the SEEING™ family of compact Earth observation imagers.
