Bio

Born in Luxembourg, Major Schaber, began his career in the Luxembourg Armed Forces in 2004, graduating from the Ecoles Militaires de Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan in France, the French Infantry School as well as different advanced military courses in Belgium and Germany.
After different posts and deployments within the Armed Forces, he was promoted in 2017 to the role of Senior National Representative to the Belgian Air Force and Implementation Officer for the Binational Belgo-Luxembourgish A400M Program. In this function, he oversaw the implementation of this major program for both nations as well as the delivery of the first Airbus A400M of the fleet in close coordination with industry and the Belgian Partners.
Major Christophe Schaber joined the LUXEOSys Program in June 2021 as Program Manager to implement this project.
Designed for governmental and military purposes, the high-resolution reconnaissance satellite (NAOS-National Advanced Optical System) will provide global coverage, being able to capture more than one hundred images per day.
This dual-use governmental system will provide imagery for a large spectrum of applications for NATO, EU and partners within following domains (non-exhaustive):
• defence and security applications like troop movement observation in conflict zones or boarder surveillance
• arms control treaty verification
• human catastrophies and humanitarian aid support
• natural disaster relief operations
• climate change monitoring
• monitoring of environmental migration
