Melissa Quinn

Bio

Melissa Quinn is the General Manager of Seradata, Slingshot Aerospace's industry-leading
launch and satellite database which tracks every launch dating back to Sputnik. Melissa leads
the UK team to empower organizations with comprehensive and actionable insight, supporting
the responsible uses of space. Melissa is driving the global expansion of Slingshot Aerospace to
deliver the acceleration of space sustainability to create a safer, more connected world.
Previously, as Director of Spaceport Cornwall, Melissa’s purpose-driven leadership was
instrumental in advancing the development of the UK launch industry resulting in the country’s
first satellite launch this year. Melissa has a wealth of experience in space operations, a deep
understanding of the space industry, and a background in business and economics, establishing
her as a known leader in the space industry.
Melissa is passionate about the role of space in improving life on Earth, as well as sustainable
uses of space in order to protect it for future generations. She fosters this through outreach to
young people, specifically young girls interested in STEM careers. Melissa was instrumental in
leading Spaceport’s STEM initiative, which led to the organization being awarded the
Educational Project of the Year award by the Satellite Innovation Group in 2022. She is part of
TEC girls, Women in Aerospace and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Melissa holds a Master of Science Degree from the London School of Economics. She is a
recognized thought leader in the space industry and has been a keynote speaker at numerous
industry conferences and events. She has been featured in the New York Times, BBC World
News, National Geographic and is a TEDX Speaker.
