Bio
Mike Patton is the Vice President of Product Centers for Lockheed Martin Space. In this role, Mike oversees the strategy, structure and operations of Product Centers, which optimize and enhance the performance, features and quality of products to meet internal and external customer needs and increase market competitiveness. Prior to this role, Mike was the Vice President of Operations for Lockheed Martin Space, where he was responsible for driving the Space Operations strategy (a $12B / year business) and leading over 6,200 professionals building satellites and missile defense systems across 8 states.Previously, Mike served as the Space Operations Deputy, and prior to that, the Vice President of the Operations Support & Services organization where he led consistent support across the Space enterprise to protect employees, facilities and data, deliver end-to end planning architecture, execute long-range strategic facility planning, develop next-generation program managers and ensure production operations organization support.
A graduate of General Electric’s Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP), Mike has an extensive background in both service and manufacturing and a proven track record to drive change and produce results. Mike spent 17 years with General Electric, where he served as a cell leader, technical coordinator, and General Manager. Mike spent over six years in international assignments leading GE Aviation’s Sozhou, China facility and Assembly, Test, and Maintenance Repair Operations in Wales, UK. Before joining Lockheed Martin in 2019, Mike was the General Manager for GE’s North America EVO Locomotive and Global Mining Operations, with responsibility for manufacturing facilities in Texas, Virginia, Mexico, and Australia.
Prior to joining GE, Mike worked for the United States Postal Service where he progressed from an hourly worker to an industrial engineering role over an 8-year period.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
