Oliver Wick

Bio

Oliver Wick is a technology scout and futurist, who has promoted future technologies and established forward thinking innovation concepts at BMW since 2012.

He began his career as an engineer at Electrolux where he was soon appointed Lead of Electrolux’s Washing Machine Lab. During his time at Electrolux Labs, Oliver successfully led an international team through the application of fuzzy logic into washing machines. Quickly establishing himself as a lead engineer, Oliver then moved to BMW where he focused on E/E development before taking on the role of Technology Scout.

Today, Oliver is recognized for taking a humanistic approach to address the automotive industry’s most pressing challenges. His vision of future technologies has lifted BMW to the forefront of automotive technology through autonomous driving, quantum computing, blockchain technologies and non-terrestrial networks. He is responsible for the research areas Sensing, Connectivity and Computing.

Oliver received his Diploma from TU Ilmenau where he focused on neural networks through his studies in technical cybernetics and control algorithm.
