Bio

Tristan Laurent is an aerospace executive with over 10 years of experience in the space industry. He holds a MSc in Management & Corporate Finance from ESC Clermont and an MBA from Kansas University. Between 2013 and 2015 he helped RHEA Group grow its professional engineering services presence at the five main European Space Agency (ESA) sites across Europe, after which he was hired by Alten Group’s space division – initially as Sales Engineer and then promoted to Business Unit Manager – where he doubled the business units’ revenues year-on-year by expanding its presence in Toulouse with Airbus Defence & Space, Thales Alenia Space and the French space agency (CNES). He was then recruited as Vice-President of Market Development by UK-based satellite manufacturer Open Cosmos where he helped secure multiple end-to-end mission contracts, increasing the company’s microsatellite manufacturing backlog from 1 to 8 in under 3 years. Realizing the danger posed by inaction against global warming, he went on to co-found Absolut Sensing, a remote sensing satellite operator, with the goal of deploying a microsatellite constellation capable of monitor greenhouse gases daily and provide regulators & polluters tools to measure and decrease emissions worldwide.
