Bio

Walter currently serves as President and Co CEO as well as a director of Kymeta Corporation. The company develops proprietary technology that it manufactures and brings to market. Kymeta offers the world’s only high-bandwidth, low power, complement of mobile satellite communication solutions. The technology is widely adopted by Military, Government, Enterprise and Maritime customers globally.

Under Walter’s leadership, the company successfully released its second-generation product and broadband service offering improving performance through an integrated WAN device providing seamless satellite and cellular communications, accelerating Kymeta’s global market penetration.

Kymeta was recently named number 5 on the 2022 World’s Most Innovative Companies list by Fast Company and won the BIG Innovation Award by Business Intelligence Group. In 2021, Kymeta was also named Top Ten Hottest Companies in Satellite by Via Satellite Magazine and Hottest New Mobility Solution by The Association of Telecom, Mobility and IT Management Professionals. Additionally, Kymeta received Australia’s Good Design Gold Award, Teleport Technology of the Year by the World Teleport Association and the Top Government Mobile Innovation by Mobile Satellite Users Association.

The company, which was spun out of Intellectual Ventures is primarily owned by investors including Bill Gates, LUX Capital, Hanwha and Intelsat. Walter’s prior experiences at an executive level include a broad cross section of go-to-market, manufacturing and supply chain, strategic and financial responsibilities, and outcomes. His domain expertise is largely focused around technology, communication and media, as well as energy centric enterprises. He has worked with early stage to Fortune sized companies, including Nuvectra, AppDynamics, SoftLayer, LEAP Wireless (Cricket) and CBS. He has worked with public as well as venture and private equity investors and Wall Street in general. Walter has served on a number of public boards including REG a renewal energy company (NASDAQ) and private boards including Sirius Computer Solutions, a national integrator of technology-based business solutions. He holds a BBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
