Brian Barritt is Co-Founder and CEO of Aalyria, a technology company that builds the software and laser-̶communications technology used to orchestrate resilient, high-throughput networks across land, sea, air, and space. Aalyria customers include the U.S. Space Force, NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Naval Research Laboratory, alongside commercial and strategic partners across the United States, Europe, and beyond. Brian co-founded Aalyria in 2021 and served as its founding Chief Technology Officer before becoming CEO in July 2026.
As CTO, he led the development of Spacetime, the platform that orchestrates satellites, aircraft, ships, and ground systems into a single adaptive network. Spacetime traces back to research originally developed at Google.
Before joining Aalyria, Brian established a new industry consortium for 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks and supported open-source connectivity efforts at Meta. He spent seven years at Google as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, where he was the founding engineer and inventor of temporospatial software-defined networking, or SDN technology that has powered multiple terrestrial, high-altitude, and satellite networks.
Brian has more than 15 years of experience in advanced wireless networks. Before Google, he directed engineering programs at Cisco and space communications programs at NASA.
Brian holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering, along with an MBA in Management of Technology and Innovation.
