Hervé Derrey

Education:

Hervé Derrey was born in Versailles, France, on December 15th, 1966.
A graduate of École Polytechnique and Telecom ParisTech, Hervé Derrey also holds a degree from the Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale (IHEDN), the national defense college.

Professional experiences:

Before becoming CEO of Thales Alenia Space, Hervé Derrey was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Thales Secure Information and Communications Systems Global Business Unit. In this role, he was also in charge of the Global Business Unit’s French legal entities.
In 2012, Hervé Derrey was Vice-President for the worldwide Radiocommunication Products Business Line covering the Group’s radio portfolio as well as its identification and electronic warfare activities. Prior to that position, he served as Vice-President Strategic and Infrastructure Networks when he joined Thales in 2011.
From 1991 to 2011, Hervé Derrey held various management positions in France and abroad, first at Alcatel, then Alcatel Lucent, with a particular focus on mobile networks and applications, broadband internet and digital transformation.
Hervé Derrey has also been a member of the board of the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS) since 2020 and Chairman of the GIFAS Space Commission since early 2023.
