Sylvain Baissac graduated with a dual Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Saint Etienne (France) Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs and Portsmouth University, United Kingdom in 2007 followed by a post-graduate program in Strategy and Management of International Business from ESSEC Business School in 2008, Paris.
Sylvain started his career at Safran Data Systems in 2009, then known as Zodiac Data Systems, as Satellite Ground Equipment’s International Sales & Marketing Manager. Focusing for almost five years on developing their now best-seller, Cortex telecommunication modem, Sylvain embraced a wider role in 2014: Satellite Ground Antennas & Systems. To keep on developing Safran Data Systems’ businesses abroad, Sylvain was the dedicated contact of the most renowned and demanding Space Agencies such as NASA, ESA, JAXA, and so forth, as well as major Ground Station as a Service Providers. In 2022, following Safran Electronics & Defense’s Space Division creation, Sylvain Baissac was appointed VP Sales & Marketing, for Safran Data Systems’ Space & Communication business unit. The Ground segment being such a moving and dynamic domain, Sylvain really enjoys being the link between partners’ projects and Safran Data Systems engineers to offer the best-in-class solutions to their customers.
Father of 3, Sylvain lives in Bordeaux. Outside of work, Sylvain loves practicing music and hiking.
