Ryan Reid is Senior Executive Director of Boeing Space Communications Programs, part of Boeing Space Mission Systems. Reid oversees the strategy, integration, and execution of Boeing’s government and commercial communication satellite programs and services contracts. He serves as the president of Boeing Satellite Systems, International.
Before his current position, Reid was the director of Boeing Commercial Satellites, leading the team to deliver some of the most advanced commercial satellite programs in Boeing’s history.
Prior to that, he led the O3b mPOWER satellite program for customer SES. As part of that program, Reid led the Boeing team responsible for the development, production, and delivery of the first fully software-driven satellite, the 702X, which has since evolved for other commercial and government communication satellite applications.
Previously, Reid was the director of Space System Architectures where he led the engineering organization responsible for space architecture modeling, simulation, and analysis; cybersecurity implementation in space applications, network architectures, and integrated system development and deployment. Since joining Boeing in 1999, Reid has held engineering, management and program leadership roles, and has been at the forefront of several industry innovations such as direct-to-device, broadband, and networked space systems.
Reid is a member of the the Board of Directors of the El Segundo Chamber of Commerce. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from University of California Riverside and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California
