Wim Steenbakkers

Bio

Wim joined ING in 1996. Wim is Global Lead for ING’s Satellite & Technology Finance franchise, which has dedicated global relationship management responsibility for providing (structured) financing solutions and services to ING customers in the technology and satellite industries.

In his current role within the global ING TMT sector team, Wim is involved in sectors spanning from satellite, datacentres, IT Services, Internet platforms, software, hardware and semiconductors.

Wim has covered the satellite space for 25 years on the structuring and documentation of a variety of financing structures ranging from project financings, ECA supported loans, term loans, leasing structures to securitisation programmes relating to the TMT sector as well as asset based financings (aircraft, marine containers and rolling stock). In addition, Wim has been involved in debt and M&A advisory teams to both (semi-) government and corporates.

Wim has also been a portfolio manager in the Asset-Based Finance group responsible for the management of a US$ 1 billion asset-backed loan portfolio.

Wim holds a master degree in economic sciences from the University of Amsterdam.
