Bio

John Williams is the Vice President of Real-Time Earth (RTE) at Viasat. Under his leadership, Viasat has expanded its RTE network to provide Ground-Station-as-a-Service (GSaaS) to commercial and government earth observation and remote sensing communities. John has over 35 years of aerospace and defense experience gained through extensive military and private industry careers. He has served as the Chairman for the National Defense Industrial Association Space Division and was a member of the NDIA Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Workforce Division. Prior to joining Viasat, John held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Space Network (USN) and was responsible for the management and growth of USN’s mission-critical services to government and commercial customers worldwide. John is a retired U.S. Air Force officer, having served 21 years in a variety of national security space-related roles such as Commander of the Air Force Satellite Control Network, the Air Force's space force programmer and aide-de-camp to the Air Force Chief of Staff. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Space Operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
